Winners Gourmandine promotion cooking with star chef Paul van Staveren

Consumer promotion with culinary Gourmandine potato in Dutch supermarkets

Last year the Gourmandine potato variety won the independent French consumer award ‘Saveur de l’Année’. Since then, this culinary Agrico variety has found favour with Dutch consumers as well. In order to prove beyond doubt to every potato lover in the Netherlands of the special flavour characteristics of Gourmandine, Agrico organized a countrywide promotional campaign at the end of 2010. During three weeks, consumers discovered an action tag on the Gourmandine package at several Dutch supermarket outlets. Once at home, consumers had the opportunity to upload and share their most tasteful Gourmandine recipe at either the www.gourmandine.info website or social medium Hyves. One hundred lucky entrants stood a chance having their recipe printed in their own exclusive Gourmandine cookery book. In addition, the five very best entrants were awarded with a cooking workshop for two persons. These workshops were given by patron-cuisinier Paul van Staveren from the Michelin starred Restaurant Sonoy.
