Emmeloord, 23 December 2019. During the AGM of shareholders last week, the board of directors of Agrico appointed Johannes van Heerwaarden as a new internal member of its supervisory board. Mr van Heerwaarden succeeds Pieter van Maldegem.
Johannes van Heerwaarden has a mixed farm in De Cocksdorp on Texel where he grows seed potatoes for Agrico. Johannes van Heerwaarden has been active for Agrico in the pool committee since 2016. He also holds roles in an administrative capacity at other organisations in the agricultural sector.
At the central AGM earlier last week, the departing supervisory board member Pieter van Maldegem was put in the spotlight by chairman Adrie Vermeulen who thanked him for his immense dedication and commitment to the cooperative. Mr van Maldegem has been an active board member at Agrico since 2004, firstly on the board of members and later as a member of the board of directors. Mr van Maldegem also briefly addressed the members of Agrico, stating his regret that his term of office had come to an end.
The supervisory board of Agrico B.V. forms a personal union with the management board of Cooperative Agrico U.A. The supervisory board consist of seven members, four of whom are represented by members.
